Full house for Geoffrey Blainey – Australian Mining Industry Annual Lecture
More than 300 people attended the MCA’s inaugural Australian Mining Industry Annual Lecture on 9 September in Melbourne.
Historian Professor Geoffrey Blainey AC spoke on the topic ‘Mining & the Australian People – the long view’.
MCA Chief Executive Brendan Pearson welcomed guests. He was followed by MCA Chairman Andrew Michelmore, who introduced Professor Blainey. After the lecture, Mike Henry, President of Coal at BHP Billiton, proposed the vote of thanks.
The MCA acknowledges the generous support of BHP Billiton for this annual event.
